About Victoria

Victoria Shaw, PhD, LPCI received my PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Princeton University, and completed my postdoctoral training in the department of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Columbia University Teachers College. I earned my MA in Counseling from Fairfield University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a State Certified School Counselor.

Additionally, I have advanced training in a several counseling modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Distance Counseling and Energy Psychology.

My approach to counseling and therapy is holistic, and I draw from a variety of theoretical frameworks, tools and techniques to meet the unique needs of each individual client. I work with children, teens and parents on a variety of life issues including those academic, social and emotional. I also work with adults on the challenges of life transitions, stress management, trauma, parent concerns and spirituality.

I have authored four self-help books for parents, teens and preteens, and I am the mother of two spirited children.
